Discuss the formulation before discussing the procedure
Mesotherapy describes an approach using multiple small injections into selected skin or scalp areas. It does not name one fixed product. The formulation, objective and application method may differ by provider and indication, so a service label alone cannot tell you what will be injected. Ask the practitioner to explain the proposed ingredients and the reason they fit your concern before you agree to treatment.
If your goal is related to skin texture, hydration or the scalp, state it plainly without assuming that mesotherapy will achieve a particular result. A clinician should assess the area and explain whether a different method, a diagnostic evaluation or no procedure is more appropriate. The site should not promise a standard “cocktail”, a fixed number of sessions or an improvement that applies to everyone.
The ingredient question is especially important when the patient has seen advertisements for a “vitamin”, “hydration” or “hair” mixture. Those descriptions are too broad to identify a medical product. Ask for the actual formulation, its intended use and the professional’s reason for choosing it for this area. If a provider cannot explain the substance or how reactions would be handled, do not treat the service name as enough information for consent. A coordinator can arrange the consultation, but cannot independently approve a formulation or recommend an injection.
